Brian Cox, the Dundee-born international film star and leading actor, became Patron of Verdant Works in January 2006. Brian understands the type of conditions mill workers had to contend with as his parents both worked in the Jute industry, his father was a weaver and his mother a spinner. On a recent visit Brian commented 'As the place of my birth, the City of Discovery is close to my heart. Dundee holds a lot of childhood memories for me and I only wish I could visit more often'.
